We are working hard to keep bin collection services running as normal during the coronavirus pandemic. To help increase efficiency we will be introducing new vehicles and adjusting some collection rounds in Mole Valley.
From the week commencing 18 May, all food waste bins in Mole Valley will be emptied using a separate collection vehicle. Residents who did not already have a separate food waste collection should have received a postcard to let them know that their food bin will now be emptied at a different time of day to their other bins. This means it is important to keep your food caddy out until 4pm on your usual collection day (which is not changing) to ensure it is emptied.
For some residents, their collection day is changing and their food waste bin will initially be emptied on a different day to their rubbish and recycling bins. We have sent letters to these residents to let them know when to put out their bins.
The current collection vehicles are being replaced with vehicles that are similar to those used at the nearby Amey depots. This means if a truck is unable to go out due to unforeseen circumstances, it can be replaced by a vehicle from a depot nearby. These changes aim to create more efficient routes and reduce travel times.
