Recycle Week has arrived and this year the theme, The Big Recycling Hunt, focuses on ‘missed capture’: the items that can be recycled but are commonly missed in the home. They’re out there somewhere, hidden in homes across the nation, forgotten in our kitchens, bathrooms, cupboards, and even lurking in our rubbish bins.
Our busy lives are filled with things we could, and really should, recycle, but we often forget or are unaware that we are missing opportunities to recycle these forgotten items! It’s incredibly important we recycle everything we can. Remember, the more you recycle, the more you save your local council money – freeing up funds to be spent on services that are important to you!
The good news is that more and more of us are recognising this and actively hunting for these recyclables; this is where the Surrey Environment Partnership (SEP) is here to help! Visit their website and check out these resources to help you hunt down those forgotten recyclables:
- Use their online search tool or download the Surrey Recycles app for free today
- Read their hints and tips
- Download SEP’s guide to bossing your bins
You can keep up to date with the latest hints and tips this Recycle Week by visiting SEP’s social media channels between 16 – 22 October. Visit the Recycle Week webpage for more!
Happy hunting!
